Welcome to The Sorabji Files: The life and music of Kaikhosru Shapurji Sorabji!

As you may know, due to the high cost of bandwidth, we were not able to keep the free music downloads section of this site. But thanks to the kind generosity of a man named David Pitman, who is hosting this site on his server, we are now able to provide that music free of charge, for all to listen to, again. We have even been able to add more music than before.

Mr. Pitman is also a concert pianist and has made a significant contribution of his own Sorabji recordings to this site. Thanks to him, we will be adding his recordings of Piano Sonata No.1, In The Hothouse, Désir Eperdu, and Toccata, performed live, in 1999, at the Theatre, Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Brisbane, Australia.

Also added to the site recently is Alberto Vignani's virtual rendition of the Symphonic Variations. It is still a work in progress, so be sure to check back from time to time for updates.
